Best in Low — Lowrider Icons of the Street and Show

  • For the Best in Low exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum, a wide range of marketing materials was needed to capture the artistry and vibrancy of lowrider culture while appealing to both the lowrider community and a broader audience. Additionally, an engaging LED wall animation was required to draw visitors into the exhibit.

  • I was responsible for spearheading the design and creation of these marketing materials, ensuring they effectively represented lowrider culture and promoted the exhibit’s themes of craftsmanship and history. The project also required designing an animation of the iconic lowrider "Gypsi Rose" to be showcased at the museum’s main entrance.

  • I designed postcards, stickers, temporary tattoos, posters, newspaper ads, magazine ads, and billboards, each carefully crafted to reflect the bold aesthetics of lowrider culture. The postcards and stickers featured iconic imagery, the temporary tattoos embraced the culture’s graphic style, and the posters and ads used dynamic layouts to capture attention. I also created large-scale billboards to expand the exhibit’s visibility in high-traffic areas. Additionally, I designed an animated feature of "Gypsi Rose" for the LED Wall at the museum entrance, showcasing the car’s customization, artistry, and hydraulics in a dynamic and visually engaging way.

  • The marketing materials were successfully distributed at major conventions and the exhibit’s opening night, generating buzz and serving as both souvenirs and promotional tools. The LED Wall animation captivated visitors upon arrival, setting the tone for the exhibit and reinforcing the cultural significance of lowriders. My contributions helped elevate the exhibit’s presence and ensured it left a lasting impression on attendees.
