Eyes on the Road — Art of the Automotive Landscape

For Eyes on the Road, I played a pivotal role in shaping the exhibit’s branding, drawing inspiration from the visual culture of highways—particularly neon signage, which evokes the nighttime driving experience. Once the concept was approved, I developed an animated neon sign that mimicked the movement and glow of real roadside signage, reinforcing the immersive feel of the exhibit. In addition to the branding, I designed supporting graphics, including wall murals, labels, and placards, to create a cohesive visual identity. The exhibit itself explores how automobile ownership in the 20th century transformed the American landscape, with civil engineers, architects, and designers shaping the highways, signage, and roadside amenities that define modern travel. By merging the often-overlooked “art” of the highway with contemporary artistic interpretations, Eyes on the Road highlights the car’s role in shaping the built environment, and my work helped bring this vision to life through dynamic and engaging design.
